Sequence 028 — Read Chapter 2 source - first pass
Stage: Source Study
Source: CDMP Master Execution Manual — Chapter 2
When / purpose
Build a whole-chapter mental map before studying derivative guides.
What you should learn
- See the chapter as a coherent knowledge area.
- Identify recurring terms, structures, roles/processes only as they appear in the source.
- Notice examples and figures that may matter later.
- Mark uncertainty instead of resolving it from memory.
What to read / study
| Priority | Resource | Open | Use now | Stop point |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MUST | DMBOK Chapter 2 source PDF | OPEN | Read the full chapter once for structure and meaning. | Do not make exhaustive notes on the first pass. |
Do this in order
- Read from beginning to end at a comprehension pace.
- Mark headings, repeated concepts and unfamiliar terms.
- Flag confusing comparisons with a question mark.
- Do not copy paragraphs; capture only a short structure outline.
- At the end, write a 5–10 sentence plain-language summary from memory.
Meridian application
While reading, keep Meridian in the background and note only obvious connections to: Analyze customer profiling, employee analytics, third-party sharing, secondary use and online-data scenarios; identify stakeholders, harms, missing context, ethical concerns and governance responses.
Create / save
One-page chapter structure outline + uncertainty list.
Stop / boundary
Stay inside the current source/skill boundary. Do not pre-learn later chapters or engineering depth.
Completion gate
You can describe the chapter’s shape without reopening the source.
