Fundamentals weight: 6% · Source boundary: DAMA-DMBOK2 Revised, Chapter 7, printed pp. 209–256. This study package stays at DMBOK Data Security depth; it does not turn the chapter into a cybersecurity certification.

Chapter 7 is best understood as a business rule → classification → access → control → evidence system. The goal is not maximum restriction. The goal is to protect sensitive and regulated data while preserving legitimate business access, then produce evidence that the protection is working.

Keep four questions in mind throughout the chapter:

  1. What data is sensitive?
  2. What restrictions apply?
  3. Who is entitled to what?
  4. What evidence proves the rules are followed?
