Sequence 026 — Chapter 1 applied deepening - charter, priorities and roadmap

Stage: Applied Lab Deepening
Source: CDMP Master Execution Manual — Chapter 1

When / purpose

Turn the Chapter 1 diagnosis into a bounded Data Management starting strategy without pretending later knowledge areas have already been solved.

What you should learn

  • A charter/scope clarifies purpose and authority.
  • A roadmap sequences priorities; it is not a list of every future project.
  • Priorities should trace back to business value and risk.
  • Later DMBOK chapters will refine the solutions.

Do this in order

  1. Open the Meridian Chapter 1 Charter, Scope Statement & Roadmap work.
  2. Write a short Data Management purpose statement grounded in the Chapter 1 diagnosis.
  3. Define what this starting effort is in scope to address and what is explicitly out of scope.
  4. Convert the most important findings into a small set of priorities. For each, state the business value/risk it addresses and why it belongs now or later.
  5. Sequence the priorities into a practical starting roadmap instead of treating every identified issue as simultaneous work.
  6. Check the roadmap against Chapter 1 boundaries: later chapters may change the detailed governance, architecture, quality, security, metadata, or other solutions.
  7. Save the short charter and prioritized roadmap with the rest of the Chapter 1 Meridian evidence.

Evidence of completion

  • Short Data Management charter/scope.
  • Small prioritized roadmap.
  • Each priority traces to a business value/risk reason.
  • Now/later sequencing is defensible.

Stop / boundary

Stay inside the current source/skill boundary. Do not pre-learn later chapters or claim detailed solutions that Chapter 1 has not taught.

Completion gate

You can defend why each priority is now/later and what Chapter 1 contributes without pretending to have completed later knowledge areas.

NEXT → Sequence 027 — Chapter 2 source gate and orientation

The 00C manual card is migrated independently of the separate Chapter 2 mastery/lab build. If you actually execute Sequence 027 or a later Chapter 2 card, obey that card’s named source and artifact gates.

Operationalized from the verified canonical 00C Master Execution Manual and existing Chapter 1 Meridian lab assets; not a verbatim transcription.
