Sequence 216 — Purview business concepts / glossary translation
Context: Career Data Governance Platform Specialization | Career Platform
Source: CDMP Master Execution Manual
When / purpose
Operationalize business definitions inside a governance platform vocabulary.
What you should learn
- Business concepts/terms connect definitions to governed assets.
- Definitions need ownership, context and controlled relationships.
- Platform vocabulary should not replace DMBOK meaning.
Do this in order
- Select 5–10 Meridian business terms already used in governance/metadata work.
- Define each using existing evidence rather than inventing new company facts.
- Identify candidate owners/stewards and asset relationships.
- Note where Purview terminology differs from the vendor-neutral concept.
Meridian application
Translate the existing Meridian glossary/metadata design into Purview business concepts.
Create / save
Business-concept translation sheet.
Stop / boundary
Keep the exercise at governance and stewardship depth; do not expand into unrelated platform administration.
Completion gate
You can explain the business meaning first and the Purview implementation vocabulary second.
