When / purpose

Close the first technology gate with reproducibility and an independent test.

Initialize or inspect the local lab repo.
Commit the environment/SQL baseline.
From a clean editor, create a table with constraints, query it, join related data, validate results and save scripts.
Use Git diff/log to explain what changed.

Use Meridian synthetic data and the local lab environment only when the card calls for practice.

Gate A evidence packet + Git commit.

Stop at governance/data-management working depth; do not expand into DBA or engineering specialization.

You can perform the relational foundation workflow independently enough to begin Chapter 5.
