Sequence 019 — Question Bank - retrieval under exam conditions

Stage: Retrieval / Exam
Source: CDMP Master Execution Manual — Chapter 1

When / purpose

Measure Chapter 1 recall and discrimination without rereading before every question.

What you should learn

  • Retrieval exposes gaps that rereading can hide.
  • A miss should be classified by the reason it happened, not recorded as only right/wrong.
  • Confidence matters: a lucky guess is not mastery.
  • The answer key is a repair tool used only after you commit to an answer.

Do this in order

  1. Open the Chapter 1 Question Bank.
  2. Work the Practice pages closed-book. For each item, record your answer, confidence, time, and whether it needs review.
  3. Do not open the matching Answer Key until you have committed to the questions in that block.
  4. For every miss, uncertain answer, or low-confidence correct answer, identify the cause: knowledge gap, vocabulary/confusion pair, role/responsibility, sequence/process, missed qualifier, stem-reading, elimination, overthinking, changed answer, time pressure, or source-lookup failure.
  5. Use the detailed rationale to explain why the correct answer is best and why the strongest distractor is still wrong.
  6. Make a short repair list for the concepts or distinctions that remain weak.

Evidence of completion

  • Question-bank attempt is recorded with answers, confidence and review flags.
  • Misses and uncertain answers have a reason/category attached.
  • A specific repair list exists instead of a generic “review Chapter 1” note.

Completion gate

You can answer the majority correctly for the right reason and can state exactly what still needs repair.
